It must be worse for you up there YC, its a lot mroe north than me. Lets hope the cold wind eases off some.

I hope it dies down soon :fl It was eye watering and took your breath away this morning. Pretty open at the farm where I keep Harry so nothing to shelter from :(

Still snowing heavily here :(

Hope it does not get too bad for you :fl Is it forecast for most of the night for you? Oh and welcome to the thread :frow

Just got home. All but one of my hens seem ok. The last of my original 6 hens, jemima, is looking a bit puffed up. But when I went to pick her up she legged it. She's eating and drinking ok so I'll just keep an eye on her. Still got 12 eggs though! I also just wanted to spare a thought for all those good people that have rehomed ex battery hens over the past few weeks. There isn't much in the way of feathers going round so it will be a challenge keeping them warm and stress free. Hopefully it will start warming up over the next week or two.

Hah! Well Mother Nature caught us too! We have 13 inches of wet, heavy snow - it has done a lot of damage to the Eastern Pines :( Temp is hovering around 32F, so it won't stick around long.....:fl

How are you doing? The melt is underway here, not looking forward to the mud bath! :sick

@Chickencountryuk How is Jemima today?

Thanks for asking. She seems ok. There all starting to look a bit cheesed off at the moment. Snow is starting to clear a bit now so I may let them out tomorrow. I've been putting quite a bit of straw in the run and it looks a bit of a mess now. So I'll be mucking out tomorrow!! I'm glad I got the chippings down before this weather so I'll see if they work!!

So not impressed with the weather.

On a different note, one of the chickens let me pet her today :)

Good to hear she seems ok today. Everywhere is looking a mess here at the moment. I’m dreading what the runs will be like when they have defrosted. I’m seriously thinking of having them properly concreted with a drain so washing them out will be easier. Will def be a job for summer if we decide to do that though.

Lovely pic :D The snow sure does make everything hard work! We have four underground burst pipes now at the farm :hmm Looks like I will be lugging water from home for a tad longer for Harry horse. I’m also struggling with ice balls in his feet :he

Lovely to hear you got to pet one of your chickens today :clap Treats are a great way to their heart ;)
