I’m sure everyone is in the same boat so all will be scrambling for hay/straw etc.
Got a few bales of hay done and storing it now but not sure it will get us right through the winter

I just got some new straw this week (small bales) it’s ok but certainly shorter & the price has gone up from £1.20 to £2.00 per bale

The last time I bought hay it cost £3 a bale! But that was for 1. I can normally get it given from the baler man who has our straw. I don't really use it but my wife has rabbits so a bale lasts a long time! Yours looks quite good but I guess you normally have more than that. You may have to put it under lock and key. It could become quite a commodity!

Hello I’ve noticed a few watery poops today. I’ve researched this website and it seems it’s just the heat? But could be other things like an infection or not enough food? My bantams don’t eat many of their pellets but they freerange 8-8 and seem to like little insects and a bit of greenery so I’m assuming they’re getting enough food, they don’t go mad for treats either so I think they just have tiny tummies.
I guess I just wondered if one if you kind folk could look at this photo and tell me if it’s just the heat or should I be treating them for something? Thank you x

I think it looks ok. I could show you some of my chickens poo, they are scary! So long as they're drinking and acting 'normal', whatever that may be, I wouldn't worry to much. They will be drinking more with it being so hot. You could always add some electrolytes to the drinking water.

And still it rains....supposed to keep it up all week. Time to start building an Ark, but I'm only taking chickens.... Even with all this rain we are still officially in drought mode. I think some of this rain is heading for UK.....

Im not trying to seperate this forum up but i thought it would be nice to know who and how many UK based members there are here

The main reason is then as the members in USA conduct Egg Swaps and Counrty and County based Sales and Advice then we can see who would be best to ask for local advise
