You need to consider placing the bands on at 4 days. If they get removed, then redo the next day. Once I waited until it was day 7 or 8 and was too late to get it on. I know there are videos, that show how to install them. I was just TOO AFRAID, that installing them in the later days would break the thumb toe when pulling thru. That is JUST ME.
I know I posted on one of these pigeon threads my tricks of how to keep them on. (forgot which at the moment) . One was to use athletic tape to keep toes separated so ring would not fall off easily. Another was to use cotton or yarn to take up the slack between leg and band. After 2 or 3 days, removed and ring would stay on without falling off. Pigeons grow faster than WEEDS.

I'll have a look at the first one hatched tomorrow. That will be four days. Then the day after the next then the next and I'm still waiting on number 4 though. I can put some medical tape on if necessary.

This grizzled hen was uninterested for weeks but persistence finally won her over and Leoti has a new mate to console him for the loss of Chepi...

She is now very cuddly with him. I should probably turn off the baby factory but I'm real curious to see what colors this pair would produce.

My second pair of pigeons layed two eggs. One hatched 3 days ago and the other egg hasn't hatched. Should I leave it in the nest. I'm pretty sure it should have hatched by now. Or will the parents remove it if it's no good?

I watched a bunch of videos on youtube before I did mine.

I've done 8 now - never a problem. You will be fine.
