I've just put a ring on the first one. I definitely wasn't so worried as I was the last time! Second one is still a bit small and the third one is still Diddy! It seems to be doing ok. But it is so small. It will have hatched early as it was about 4-5 day after the other two but hatched a day after the second. I hope that this will be it's saving grace.

Still no movement from the second nest though. They should start hatching in the next day or so.

Hopeful news! I was worried he might get crushed. I think you are right that being hatched a day after the second kept him from being overlooked by the parents. Very encouraging that #2&3 are holding their own against "Goliath" haha. I've heard some fanciers will briefly remove a much larger chick to give the smaller a chance to be fed well. I think I would only do that if it seemed necessary.:D

I was thinking about putting the little one in with the second nest if the had hatched earlier. It seems to be doing ok. So long as it gets a bit of feed and some of the parents milk then I'm hopeful. The next couple of days will be crucial.

How neat to see 3 in a nest! I think they look good.:thumbsup

About hatching early.. I have noticed that eggs laid a day apart often hatch within a few hours of each other. Almost as if they 'try' to hatch together.
Here's the 'other' three on my neighbours roof refusing to come in! Little monsters!

They are still in the 'look-around' stage. Of course that is your 'favorite' neighbor, right? lol

eta My ybs spent HOURS on the roof looking around before they began flying. I was afraid they were to lazy to go anywhere. I was ALMOST getting bored watching them sit there when finally after a few weeks they began putting on a great airshow!

No. He's the one that kicked boomer when she first appeared. I hope they are going into poop overdrive up there! I think when any birds have a couple of eggs, when theirs one hatches it spurs the others along. Like chickens all normally hatch at about the same time as the unhatched ones hear the hatched ones and just want out!
