Last couple days my quail chicks have been hatching. This morning when I awoke, one chick, I noticed, it's foot was huge and swollen. Looking further part of the umbilical cord had wrapped around, dried, and shrunk around the ankle. The foot was purple and swollen about twice the size of the other. I cleaned up the leg, unwrapped the cord, hydrating it with warm water. Is there anything else I should do? I kinda assume that if the foot was black the it would of been dead, but being purplish, hopefully it goes back to normal?
