I just got a dozen eggs in the mail today, and while they were well packed, they were crammed into a box (USPS medium flat rate) that was way too small. These were not bantam eggs, either. All had detached air cells. In the past I have had extremely poor luck with them. I did some research this time and after reading through some threads on this forum and others, I decided to let them rest large end up. Well, after several hours of not being disturbed, all but the worst one has mostly reattached! It turns out that other people have gotten really good results by incubating these eggs with the large end up. This position is actually supposed to be better for the eggs than laying on their sides. I am using a clear plastic egg "carton" but the eggs are small enough so that there is space around them and I have a fan in my incubator. I am very optomistic.
