Unbelievable mess.....FURIOUS with myself. :(

LOL I can imagine!!! I tend to get a few cuts myself. I have had stitches in my right hand 3 times now.

The last time was the first of January this year. If you EVER have a glass stuck in the garbage disposal don't stick your hand in to get it out and make a fist. NOT a great choice!!

wow, you really are lucky you werent standing there when it happened! next time i would just heat it up in the pan opened. were you going to eat it out of the can??? my husband does...he gets a spoon and eats it like its pudding or something.

LOL no, I was going to use it as apple dip. Thought I would do it last night and have it ready for the kids today. I don't know if it would work with the can open?

I think it's the pressure of cooking it in the can that makes it into caramel. Eagle Brand says specifically on the can to NOT cook it like that.
But it's so tasty and it's the easiest pie filling.

Wow, go big or go home I always say, and you certainly made a big mess! what a great time to repaint the kitchen after all is said and done

YES!!! The most perfect, gooy, wonderful caramel!!! It is amazing!!!! And almost worth that mess!!! LOL

Wow, that is quite the mess!! The pics brought me back to 2 things I remember:

1) When I was a kid shaking a bottle of A1 sauce that I thought had a lid on tight... it wasn't and it took me about 4 rapid shakes until my eyes transferred the "STOP" signal to my brain and then my brain to my arm!

2) My wife decided to make plum chutney in the blender. Bottom wasn't screwed on correctly and plum sauce was sprayed all over the kitchen.

I think to this day there are probably bits of A1 in my parent's kitchen and plum sauce in our first kitchen when we were married.
