My mom pressure cooked some beans onto the ceiling once when I was a kid. I don't think I've ever seen her that mad. It happens. Even to the most seasoned cooks.

Your post sounds like the one I wrote a few weeks ago on here....I was singin the praises of smoke alarms and how they probally saved my house!!!
I was gonna put something on the stove and just pop in here 'for a minute' to check out the new post BYC and next think I knew , the smoke alarm was shrilling and I had flames shooting up to the top of cabinents and a smoke filled kitchen.....It was so bad I wound up having to paint the whole kitchen!!! Just finished it in fact. That will learn me, durn me!!! I am glad your damage was minimal...coulda been so much worse!
If you paint your kitchen , show us the new decor!? I love the way you have it decorated !!

Yeah, that burned broccoli smelled pretty bad! I almost turned the kids off of broccoli. My MIL melted a fancy, heavy duty pan once (that I know of). She is easily distracted, much like myself.

if it makes you feel any better DH wont allow me to touch this BBQ after i BBQed his last one...

He was leaving for a business trip I drove him to the airport and i came home and decided the kids and I were going to have a grand dinner..

I was going to make bbq chicken breast with BBq ribs and Caesar salad

well just as i was going to go into the house to grab the chicken cause the ribs were about done the phone rang so i grabbed the phone and i grabbed the chicken

as i went to go back out side there was flames shooting over 10' in the air and my 8' section of fence was on fire

I yelled at my DS who was 12 at the time to go next door and get the neighbor cause i had to hold the non burning end of the frnce up or the house may have caught on fire..

the neighbor comes out to smoke everywhere and grabs my garden hose and puts the fire out...

DH got a call from the other neighbor that the house was burning down and she could hear me yelling..(poor him he is at the airport no way of getting home)..he calls 911 tells them the address..he hops a cab home misses his flight by the time he gets there the kids and I were sitting in the front yard eating McDonalds..I could not hear the phone ringing from him trying to call me cause we were on the front porch chillin...

so i am not allowed to BBQ anymore

Years ago a friend told me what she had to clean off her kitchen ceiling and walls....... well, I just tell you that a box fan, set on the kitchen floor, running on high speed, and a good sized male dog.... marking his territory makes for a bad mix!

And I just read where people cook those cans in a crock pot.

Some years ago a friend of mine had a beagle/lab mix. She had spaghetti just drained on the counter and a box of rit dye she was getting ready to dye some fabric with. When she goes into the kitchen she sees that her dog had pulled down the spaghetti, broken open the dye all over it and peed on the entire mess right on her new carpeting.
