Im getting a Great Pyrenees pup to help with that! Also putting river rock around the outside of the coop a one foot boundary about 6 inches thick. I have netting for the run to protect them when Im not around...I know Hawks are the big problem here. I have lights ( motion) plussome of those redflashers that scare off Preds at night. It is very nice and I don't want to be a debbie downer BUT.
I don't know where you live and while chicken wire will keep your chickens in, it won't keep determined, hungry predators out. If you are in the US, Canada or anywhere chicken predators are afoot, you'll need a layer of hardware cloth unless the chickens will be behind a predator proof barrier.
