Serena looked up, a bit saddened that Orion wasn't present. She swam around her cave, then laid down. This was her first childbirth, and she was nervous. All she wanted was the best for children. Along with her nervousness, came her unreasonable anxieties. She fantasized her mate killed, children, lost, or maybe eaten. She swam outside to nibble on some seaweed, then rushed back inside to deliver the children. After minutes of moans and screams, Serena looked upon her two new children. A boy and a girl, as she had always wanted! She wrapped herself around them, caressing her new children. She shed a tear of joy for them, then slept with them.

Orion came back minutes later, carrying food for Serena. He knew she needed to consume more food and nutrients than usual, so he went scavenging for her. But he didn't know she'd give birth before he came back.

He saw the newborns and was extremely grateful that they were alive and well, but regretted leaving because he was not there for her when she was in pain. He set the food down, and decided he'd wait for her to wake up naturally.

Serena slowly woke up, and moved, revealing two children. The male was covered in red-pink scales, and the girl with ice blue. She saw Orion, and swam to him quickly. She said excitedly "The children are here!"

"That's amazing, I'm so grateful." Orion said happily, looking at his son and daughter. "I'm sorry I wasn't there, I was gathering food for you."

"I'm not sure. What do you think their names should be?" He asked her curiously. "I'm sure I'd agree with any name you wanted."
