Unexpected Father's Day Gift (Help!)

Update:

We are now down to about 25ish chicks left. None have died within the past 3 days so that is very promising.

The small turkey poult we have loves to peck at boots and the quail that had a broken leg is almost walking 100% normally today!

We are still struggling with the calcium intake of the hens they gave to us. The hens are still laying soft shelled and very porous eggs. Bumblefoot is all taken care of and they are healing happily.

The remaining goat (Oreo) loves to follow the chickens around as they free range in our yard and is loving all the attention he gets.

Unfortunately the beautiful Lavender Orpington roo they gave us dissapeared. We went to collect them to put them up for the night and the rooster was no where to be found. We haven't seen him since.

We are also starting to get quail eggs! We got the first one on friday. Two on Saturday. Three on Sunday and are waiting for them to lay eggs for today (Monday)!

Just wanting to update everyone on how the situation is going.

Also, my dad confronted the people who did this. It seems the husband was out of town during work for several weeks and the wife couldn't take care of all the animals and when they started to die, dumped them on us.

The husband had no idea she did not take care of them and kept on apologising. We are being given produce from their garden and are going to (most likely) be paid for our troubles. Either through feed, (chick starter, scratch, layer feed, hay), produce, or actual money. My dad and the husband are still talking that through.

That's great news! I'm so glad the animals are all doing better. It's also good that the people are owning their mistake and reimbursing you for all you've done. And, now you have a bunch of cool new animals! Are you going to keep them all?

It is up to my parents honestly. My dad is adding onto the coop and making it larger, so most likely.

My mom and sister are already attached and the hens are already a part of the flock.
