Unexpected Father's Day Gift (Help!)

The hen that has bumblefoot, she is hardly able to walk and we soaked her feet and got it out. She is separated from the others and is doing better.

Gonna add some photos of the animals.

This is the quail with the hurt leg. She can move it more than she could yesterday.

We checked every single one of the chicks for lice, mites, and any wounds or problems. No chicks had anything visibly except for a single chick with pasty butt.

The other chicks look active and we will see tommorow if they pass on through the night.

Unfortunately I don't have any more advice to help you, but I just wanted to say that you are doing really great, and it's super nice of you and your family to help all these animals. I hope no more die, and they can all go on to live happy lives!

Sad update:

We had to put the small orange goat "Flippy" down. At around 9pm he wasn't able to stand on his own, he was calling out and couldn't lift his head. He just laid on his side, calling loudly. His stomach was oddly bloated and his eyes were unfocused. If that makes sense.

We took him out to the back pasture and had to sadly put him down. We do have bears that roam freely and the makeshift pen we put the goats in would not hold up to a bear attack.

He was slowly slipping away as we took him to the back pasture.

He was my little sisters favorite. She loved her little Flippy. And it hit her hard. She took off his collar and held him for a bit before we let him go.

She still hasn't stopped crying (its 11pm now) and convinced our dad to bring in the other goat for the night. He now is asleep in mine and my sisters bathroom.

Also update on the **** who gave us these sick animals. They skipped town for the next couple of weeks. So who knows when they will be back so my Dad can tear into them for doing this to us.

That’s crazy! Sorry to hear about your losses. Reading about the first that had maggots between its toes makes me want to puke. I haven’t had goats, quail, or turkeys before (only chickens and ducks) but they shouldn’t be that hard to take care of. Seems like they bit off way more than they could chew. That was pretty low of them to dump their problems on you though. Might I ask how they managed to drop them off? It sickens me to not just think but to know that people treat their animals like this. I hope you can give them good lives. Good luck!

I'm sorry for your loss. It really is horrible that people could treat animals this badly, and then just dump them all on someone else without any warning. It's absolutely awful.

They transfered the chickens in small cardboard boxes and the goats were in the back of the truck. My sister had to carry the smallest goat bc he wouldn't walk.

It really sickens me that they 1. Did this to us. 2. Treated their animals like crap. And 3. Skipped town for who knows how long to avoid us (most likely the case)
