Unexpected Sebastopol surprise!

Has anybody else had a Sebastopol lay an egg this season???

I'm in eastern Pennsylvania and wasn't expecting an egg for another month. It has been unseasonably warm lately.

She is not quite 11 months and had been moving a bit slower than usual. I did see the gander getting frisky with her recently, but was shocked to find an egg in the barn mid-January! First egg laid January 16th!

Breeding season has officially begun!

My geese, both American Buffs, never lay this early. I don't have any idea if it's normal for any other breed. Sorry.
