Perhaps if you sit with B on your lap outside & get everyone used to one another that will help things to go smoothly? B will be able to see them but have a safe place to sit. Keeping B in the same area but safely away from the others while she heals is the way to go, I agree. You're doing a fantastic job and B sounds about as sweet as you could ask for.
Frankly, when flock integration happens, there will be some pecking to determine the order & where everyone fits. If someone gets too saucy for their feathered britches, separate HER out. Let the rest be able to hear but not see her for a week, then bring her back. Her position in the flock will have shifted and they won't put up with her nonsense. If she does it again, same deal until she decides to behave and not terrorize others.
One thing that I know for sure is that you can't rush familiarization or integration. They have their own personalities and won't be rushed.
Maybe if your Mom isn't out in the chicken area you can just say things are going well & leave it at that? And not to sound mean, but if she's narcissistic, perhaps you could take her to lunch as a thank you for all of her wonderful understanding. Better yet, make her breakfast & show her more attention. (Don't point out that the eggs came from the chickens she's complaining about.)
Hard to believe it's possible but perhaps she doesn't like being on the back burner for a chicken? (Everyone's different so I get it. Stop talking so much about B & the gang and focus more on her. Grit your teeth if ya have to. It's for B.)
As for why no one has come looking for such a sweet girl, well it seems like there could be a lot of reasons (nine of which I understand either, as I would scale mountains to find one of my girls if ever one was gone. The most important thing to know is that she found her way to you & it sounds like you're each better for it. Good for you! And she's lovely !
