When we started to put together our outside run and the coop we laid four large pieces of chicken wire on the ground and tied them together with zip ties. Then we piled our dirt and tree shavings on top of the wire, put the chain link dog kennel on top of that and brought the chicken wire up the sides over 2 feet high. Who knew? It wasn't to keep outside critters from digging in.....it was to keep the chickens from digging out!!! Love it!
