Unhealed/unabsorbed yolk?

Ok so this chick is FIESTY! Just got home and I took out his buddy and put him in with the others. Well gooey butt lost his mind. Went back and got him, put him in a little box to check the rest of the unhatched eggs. Rest were not viable. While I’m candling them he manages to jump out of the box twice and cheap at an alarming decibel for his friends. His protrusion doesn’t seem as yellow, more of a fresh pink/red tonight. Going to clean it up and put on some triple cream I picked up. I don’t have another brooder space so I’m going to quickly clean the incubator and lay a towel down with some food and water and that will be his temp home until tomorrow when I can see how it looks. I will put the latest chick from this morning in with him for tonight. My mom has another heating pad I can use for us tomorrow when we can set something up where he can see but not touch his friends. I temporarily stuck him in the heat cave with his 7 siblings with the lights off and he snuggled down and went to sleep with them. They are all sleeping since the lights are off so I’m not concerned with pecking for the next hour while I clean the incubator. Anywho, thanks for your help ladies/gents, I will keep you updated if you want. For now he seems totally healthy.

Got him cleaned up and put some cream on it. He was NOT a fan, very hard to keep a hold of him. It actually had a big chunk of eggshell stuck in that goo. Got that out and it just seems to be a meaty string hanging out, much like the cord. I wasn’t able to get him to eat as he was way more concerned about his buddies, again screaming at a high decibel. I put todays buddy in with him in the brooder. He’s still not even walking the greatest so I think he’s safe for the night with him.

Question, what temp should I keep the bator at now? And how often should I apply the ointment?

I too am going through the same thing. Momma accidentally crushed the egg and I successfully hatched. But she had poked a tiny bloody hole and after hatching I noticed this the next day. I'm on day 2 with baby. Has energy. But I am at a loss on how to seal it and feel bad it's all alone in the house.

I left mine alone overnight in the incubator. The next morning, it seemed like the mass was drying up and shrinking a bit, so I stuck it under the brooder plate with the other chicks. Within a couple days, it was completely dried up and the chick is doing great
