Sorry I didn't answer this sooner.

To sell list:
1: You need your green card which is just a free permit to sell poultry.
2: Healthy birds only.
3: No birds that have been sick within the last 90 days or been on the same property as birds that have been sick in that time period
4: No birds that have been vaccinated with a live virus vaccine in the last 45 days or been near a bird that has been vaccinated in the same time.

Fairly simple and it is the same for all shows/sales.

At the fairgrounds the selling area is inside the fence in front of the building. Folks that are not selling should park outside the fence so that they don't take up a good sellers spot.

For this show I would get there early to get a good spot. Well even the folks at the bottom of the seller's area normally do well. I am going to be there just before daylight.

I don't know if you want them, but I should have a few Bantam Salmon Faverolle eggs. The dutch boys have gotten to them a few times, so some will hatch mixed. I hatched some last year the same way and ended up with 3 pures and 3 mixes. A pair of the pure favs that hatched will be in the show.

Oh man! The buggers are not even laying now. Darn. Hopefully they will squirt out some eggs for you.

I'm planning on showing some Call Ducks. I can also bring some Horizon Shipping Boxes if anyone wants to pick some up let me know what you want. Either size single is $8 and the econo is $15. I will also pick up Omni $22 and the Swan $25 but they must be paid for in advance.
Thanks

Where do you get a "Green Card"? I haven't ever heard of it! lol!

Oh wow! I want to go!!!! I'm uber-anxious to get some Fav's and a Sumatra Roo.

Now, Matt ... what consists of "good deals"? I've never bought chickens before so I wouldn't know a good deal if it pecked my foot.

green card - lincense to sell poultry (and ratites).

***** READ CAREFULLY *****

There is no link to the License to sell poultry. The link below is for "chick dealers", but the contact person at the bottom is the same. If you give them a call with your address and say "you want an application for a license to sell Poultry." Do Not say chicks just chickens or at least started chickens. If you sell chicks you need the chick dealer license which if what the link is actually for and it costs a little. They will get an application out to you ASAP or you can do it through email if you have a scanner so that you can scan your signature.

The chick dealer license does costs, but REMEMBER you are applying for a license to sell chickens. That license is FREE. They run from July 1 through June 30 of each year. If you already have a green card, you should receive a new application before the end of June.

It takes less than a week to get the Green Card from the time you stick the Application in the mail.

If you sell the bird from your property then you do not need the green card. If you arrange the sell and then deliver off your property you also do not need the card.

Today is the final day to register by phone.

Call between 6pm and 9pm.

Call either the club secretary:

or:
David Hager

I'll be there, if only to be a lookie-loo.

Will anybody be coming with Naragansett turkeys by chance?? I'm on the hunt for a hen. Well, hubby wants a hen. I want a few poults to raise! He's so impatient, he just wants a hen. Boring!

I will be looking for showgirl and/or regular silkies (prefer black or splash), modern game bantams, black cochins LF, and whatever else that is unusual and catches my eye.

BTW: I got an egg from one of the blue mottled d'Uccle gals yesterday! I'll collect what I can get and, Matt, you can be my tester if you are interested.
