Its entirely possible to miss an egg. That happened to me early this year with my only hen. Keep it separate and watch the chickens. Mama will be super nervous to find her baby.

We thought it might have fallen from a nest, but I'm leaning towards it being a neighbor chick that became separated from its mother!Native wild bird species don't usually lay eggs in chicken coops but I am curious to find out what it is!
We will set it up in a crate in the pen & see if any of our hens claim it!Its entirely possible to miss an egg. That happened to me early this year with my only hen. Keep it separate and watch the chickens. Mama will be super nervous to find her baby.
This is our pen area! It's 110'x50' I check it routinely, I did have one hen escape & lay eggs, but we found them before she became broody...we have now fixed the fencing so she can't get out! I could have missed something, but I would be really surprised, especially since it was left alone while my flock went into the coop! Stranger things have happened!
