Unknown Baby Bird found in Chicken Pen?

Wait for it to sleep, I was at a farm store a few years ago and they had baby turkeys. One of the turkeys was laying down on it's side all sprawled out and I thought it was dead, we went and found someone that worked there and he seemed kinda annoyed, walked over, tapped the chick and it jumped right up. He said that that was just how they sleep and than this was like the 5th time that had happened that day... not sure if that was just that one weird one or if it really is all turkeys, I've never had turkeys, just thought I'd throw that out there.
Thank you...I will have my husband check it!

Chicken chicks sleep like that too. When I first got my chickens years ago, I thought they all died in their brooder! OP, when you get home, if I were you, I would get all flock chick starter food. It would be a better food if it is a turkey poult but would be ok for a chick too.

I will have to pick some up on the way home...I live an hour from the nearest feed store! Thank you!

I raise turkeys. Poults have a little bump up above their beak where a snood will grow. I don't see it on that guy. I'm attaching a pic so you can see what I mean. It's an older chick. No way you missed seeing it the last few weeks.

I see what you're talking about! Thank you!
I'm 99.999% certain that it doesn't belong to any of my hens! He looks like he's had a rough go of it & has maybe been on his own for a day or two!

I posted the question on the Turkey forum before you answered & they told me the same thing! Then they moved the question to this forum!
Thank you again for the information!

Looks like a chicken to me lol u keeping it? Xx
Yes!
It's a chicken, and it probably needs a heat lamp unless you live somewhere that is hot right now. I don't see a point in putting it back in your coop even if it is in its own area. Ask the neighbors but in the meantime that baby needs TLC.
I have a flock of 21 and we are all set up for chicks, we will take good care of it, poor little baby!
