I'm going to let some milk rot just to try it!
I've done many a science experiment in a milk jug. Let it sit long enough, and it will go past the clabber stage to a little skim of cottage cheesy stuff floating on top of a lot of whey. Let it sit a bit past that point, and when you open that jug up, it will have absolutely NO odor! I'm guessing that the sour putrid state would be a good time to add it to the compost. There I go again, flying in the face of convention. Dead mouse, dead squirrel? Other dead little critters? They get buried in the compost. Milk that I don't want to give to the birds (perhaps b/c there is too much of it) compost, or garden.
Good girl. Go sit in your corner then and don't bite the new people.
