I think you’ve given yourself away as a dirty cattle rustler though... you must have snuck up this way and swiped some good ozark Herefords when we still had them 😉

nah, we talk a lot about Texas “ruining” cattle here because of all the Texas research farm AI influence from the last few decades. I guess it’s mostly just a move toward efficiency, but the breed confirmations seems to have changed so drastically that they don’t look like the same thing compared to before all that.
I've seen the breed go from stunted British imports to the big, long, excellent marbling of the 70's and 80's, I stopped raising them in 83'. That particular calf, grew into a 1,300 lbs cow. She had Mill Iron and Colorado Dunde bloodlines....distant blood was Colorado Domino. At that time it was the best bloodlines in the country.
