Your dogs sound extraordinary! I guess I’ll be buying a hunting dog. My neighborhood has off-leash ankle biters whose humans yell at them and call that being voice trained. SighShe is a well trained hunting lab. Her mother was even better. They both know or knew ( her mother died two years ago) their commands.
They live to follow commands. When I go hunting I take an 18 inch portable fence with me. I left her in the 18 inch high Fence. It is 6ft x 6ft. A buddy and I went to the bar for supper. We figured it would be 2 hours.
I told her to stay, my buddy laughed and said to you expect her to be there when we get back. We were at our cabin miles from anyone else.
I told him, she better be. He laughed and bet me ten bucks she would be out. We got back a little over 2 hours later and I was ten bucks richer.
Granted it took a little work but she would never touch a chicken.
The only thing she will break command for is cheese. If we leave cheese we’re she can reach it, she will grab it as soon as she thinks no one is looking.
Ghost in the machine, I guessWow, I had the same problem!
Yeah, you know, it's a Texan thing...go big or go home! You go all out!
