Examined that black thing further, it has fibers and looks meaty.
Anyways, the ducks did not care and enjoyed their diced egg...

Have you ever had black pudding?I wonder does boiled concealed blood look black?

I have and had forgotten. I've had blood sausage too. Not my favorite. But I didn't eat Haggis on Syke Island. The haddock was much more to my liking.Have you ever had black pudding?

This is really weird I've only just been talking about haggis on another thread! I've just had it for my tea! Haddock is nice, especially freshly caught!I have and had forgotten. I live over here on the other side of the big Pond and that Haddock on Syke Island was better than some we get around here. I just loved Skye Island. This is really weird I've only just been talking about haggis on another thread! I've just had it for my tea! Haddock is nice, especially freshly caught!
Agree! Blood sausage is popular in some areas of Germany, tried it and never developed a taste for it. Too much of a metal/iron taste. That's something in the general department of blood and/or flesh. Fine to eat, but it might not have the best taste and texture.
Ya, my "thing" looked sort of meaty too. If I ever get another I'll take a good close up! At first I wondered if it might have been an embryo gone bad but my ducks don't have a drake so that probably couldn't happen.Examined that black thing further, it has fibers and looks meaty.
