Unwanted chicks after Easter

I live in ohio and in Sunbury a seller is offering the following....

Easter chicks for adoption. Each will come with a 5 pound bag of food. Care sheets will be provided. If the novelty wears off the chick can come back.

We have black chicks with white/yellow coloring, or the classic yellow chick.

I just had someone give me 10 assorted laying breed chickens after I posted my ad. I will be going to get them today some time and I think I already have homes for them. They are 3 weeks old already. The person didnt get them for easter, they instead ordered them for some sort of reason and I guess just got tired of them.

That's it... I need to buy an actual farm

There was an ad just today somebody wanted free peacocks, peahens, chickens, and any other birds you could give them for easter

I don't think they planned to keep them the way the ad was written. I am going to be watching the ads I trying to take a few unwanted chicks after the holiday but I am going to keep them far away from my flock to prevent any diseases they could bring in.

I saw that too, if I was set up, I would put an ad in our local shopper because I know people who do this every year and then the little things die because of neglect or ignorance. Nice person to do that!!!

Found this ad in my local CL: http://seattle.craigslist.org/oly/grd/1117564535.html

I will post something like this here. It isn't fair to the birds or bunnies who have no choice. I have a friend who was going to get a chick for her daughter who is 6 but the girl didn't even want to hold any of mine, thought they were cute but only patted one chick's head with her finger. What a mistake it would be if she tries to buy one.
