That's not true. I've ordered from them, and the free chick is never a rooster.
Really, well then I guess I am wrong. That's not true. I've ordered from them, and the free chick is never a rooster.
Every free exotic chick I've received from them has been a cockerel. Last one was a silver Leghorn. That's not true. I've ordered from them, and the free chick is never a rooster.
If you read what you're agreeing to, their "free exotic" is straight run. That means unsexed, flip a coin. Every hatchery has their own deals/policies. Meyer's "meal maker" is a layer pullet if you're ordering laying types or a straight run meat bird if you're ordering meaties. Ideal fills the box with free "males for warmth" routinely for small orders. They all explain these things, surprises happen when people skip reading.Agreed. Why would they want to alienate their customers by giving them a rooster when the customer wants hens?
That's what I was thinking, too. What do they carry that's mottled? I suspect it's a very dark sport of a mottled breed but I can't wait to see how it comes out!
As is said below, I think they're SR.Every free exotic chick I've received from them has been a cockerel. Last one was a silver Leghorn.
It looks like they carry mottled Houdans and mottled Cochin Bantems. I recently went through every chicken breed they sell, looking for possibilities. I had no luck. So, I thought I'd ask here. I have not emailed the hatchery. If we can't figure it out when she's (or he!) feathered out, I'll shoot a message to MMc. Thanks for your response! What do they carry that's mottled?
