*UPDATE # 1* My Free "Rare-Exotic" from MM

The comb looks like a single to me.
It looks like they carry mottled Houdans and mottled Cochin Bantems. I recently went through every chicken breed they sell, looking for possibilities. I had no luck. So, I thought I'd ask here. I have not emailed the hatchery. If we can't figure it out when she's (or he!) feathered out, I'll shoot a message to MMc. Thanks for your response!
I looked and they have Anconas. That's what I'd put my $ on.

UPDATE #2

Someone said in a post awhile back that she'd probably be mottled. Yup! Her beatiful contrasting "stripes" turned into barring. I believe she's a Cuckoo Maran. I received her on March 2. She is now >8 weeks. And, yes, single combed.

So, what do you all think? Do I get to look forward to super dark brown eggs? Is she a Cuckoo Maran?

It's very surprising that it feathered out like that after those early massive broad bars but yes it is looking like a Cuckoo Marans. Unfortunately it is not looking like the sort that will give you dark brown eggs or indeed any eggs because with that amount of comb and wattle development at 8 weeks, that has to be a cockerel.

Rebrascora, I'm surprised too! HE didn't look anything like any CM chicks I could find six weeks ago. But my fingers are still crossed for a SHE, although the other chicks I have that are the same age have paler (more pale?) features. Unfortunately. But either way, there's room here.
