Milton/Trimble Co Park is hosting a Animal Swap Meet August 30th and 31st. AUGUST 30th is the DAY TO BE THERE!!!!!!! When I was there in the Spring I had to be held back by my better half on buying everything there!!!!! You name it, it was for sale, from all types of poultry, cages, supplies, show boxes, from dogs, to swans, to ducks, to even pot belly pigs, and miniature cows! I found some sweet Polish and Silkies the last time I was there!
Camping is available Friday evening for folks that might have a longer drive (I can not advise if there is a fee for camping.). Parking is interesting, pretty much park where you can find a spot. Be sure to bring something to haul your purchases in. As for lunch there is a food booth there, but picnicking was my option back in the spring, and is allowed. Bring a chair to sit back and relax throughout your day of walking around at the park.Things start up EARLY Saturday morning and run all day.
The “PLAN” is to meet up at Matt’s booth at 2pm, and if space is allotted we will hold our gathering relatively close to his booth, there is a shelter with picnic tables and we may try to use that space there. I figured by 2pm you will be “shopped out”, for I was…lol*********TIME CHANGE TALK WILL BE AT 10AM!!!!!!!********
Due to positive feedback at a Chickenstock in Sellersburg in the Spring. We are going to try to have a Chinese raffle again, bring something to offer. A bag of scratch, a bag of layer crumbles, feeders, baby chicks, cages, even BREEDING pairs/trios, even handmade chicken outfits! (lol). (Something valued about 10-20 dollars). Anything you are willing to part with will be put into the raffle. Depending on how many items we have in the raffle we will pass out tickets. You can then put your ticket in the bucket of the item you would like to win. For example if we have 10 items for the raffle you will be given 10 tickets, you can put all 10 tickets in the bucket for one item or you can put one in each bucket or even 5 in one and 5 in another. There will be no charge for the tickets as long as you bring something to offer for the raffle you get your tickets.

I spoke with Matt John (visit his website)http://www.poultrymansupply.com/ he carries TONS of supplies for Poultry from medications to books, leg bands,to well you name it he's probably got it. He has generously offered to give a little seminar about medications and supplements for your poultry. He will also have his supply trailer at Milton, be sure to email him if your looking for something in particular to assure he brings it for you.

He is FULL of information about poultry so get your questions ready if you have any!

The rest of the afternoon we can hangout and talk CHICKEN, or get back to the swap meet!!!!!

(there may be some added edits to this post in the future, keep an eye on it)
Any questions don’t be hesitant to PM me or email me at [email protected]
Hope to see you there!!!!!!
Brian

Hopefully this link works, the Park is located between markers 3 and 5 on the map, maybe just past marker 5. From 421 turn onto 36 to east about 2-3 blocks, turn right (south) and you will run into the park. Sorry Im unable to find better directions.

I wondered if you were on this forum...I'm happy to provide you with an excuse to go to the swap. Lol!
I will obviously be there, but not sure how long. I am on call for work that weekend and will have a pager. I'm hoping nothing goes wrong at work since it's a 2 1/2 hour drive

Yup....I start it tomorrow:p

I am planning on bringing two or three extras as well. This will be my first time there so I am really excited.... My wife can't come because her mother is in town that weekend so she is scared I will trade coops off for birds and bring a whole trailer load home with me:D

I talked to several folks this weekend at the State Fair that will be there and bringing birds for sale also.
Found a nice pair of Barred Rock Bantams and BB Red OE at the fair too....

I have a larger one on my pages on here. I am doing smaller ones for the swap so I can get a few on the trailer..... The ones going to the swap are going to be red cedar instead of the poplar that the one on my page is made from. I am hoping to get 4 done, but I need to get of the forum and get started:D This place is so addicting.

I tried to contact the county for more information and they said they would get back to me...... that was a week ago... I am in awl that something like this can come together and nobody knows anything about it??

Our own Wyldehorses won at the Ky. State Fair with her lovely Bantam Cochin Hen!!! Best feather footed bantam, she was so lovely.
Congrats Yolanda!!!!!!!!!!!!!
Probly wrong post sorry

We (as in me, wife and kids) attended the State Fair sunday and made a pass through the poultry section. I thought I might see a few of you around there, but didnt.....was really hoping to run into you Ms. Rich so I could find out when you will have some Black Coppers available.

I ran into several of you, including Yolanda at the Kentuckiana Show. Anyway I didnt get to enter anything in this years State Fair but maybe next year..

Sugarbush,
I am like you, not until wyldhorses told me about it back in the spring I had no idea about the swap meet. I have only been able to find it on the "city of Milton" website mentioning it, but that's about it. Kinda odd aint it?
