UPDATE- 14 in all! OMGosh- 2 button quails **** Pics added

Are these the quails they raise and then set free? I never see any of them around there. I know there used to be. Who would I talk to about doing that. I have a lot of land and woods. I would love to set them free. Would they be able to take care of themselfs if I did that? just a thought.

I don't think so - they only get to be 4-5 inches tall so they'd make an easy snack for a predator. Think they are mostly pets. My SIL keeps them in her aviary with her other birds. They eat the seeds from the ground that the other birds drop.

I think the Bobwhite quail are the ones you're thinking about...those are the ones that are out in the woods in some areas...not mine anymore, but if I hatch some, they might escape on me and end up running into the woods by my house. Just maybe.
