Update!!! Update below!! My 3 1/2 month Delaware hen was turned out this morning with all the other girls. She's usually very active and busy and very close to the others her age. This afternoon she was sitting by herself backed against the garden fence. I actually thought she might have been hung up in the fence somehow and approached her slowly so I wouldn't cause her to struggle. Once I got to her she very slowly got up and walked away with a very faint limp, stopped a short distance away and just stood there. I caught her and checked her over. Her left leg seemed a bit tender when I touched it but there were no signs of injury. I placed her in a separate pen in case she was sick. It's unusually cool today, but I noticed her panting. Like, Beak wide open and breathing heavy. I can't really get her to walk around much to see if she has a definite limp. She just stands there with her tail down. She's eating and drinking fine. All of the hens her age are getting in a LOT of their feathers and are constantly cleaning and preening themselves. This hen keeps pecking at the same spot on her lower chest almost between her legs. I looked her all over and there was a place with a light yellowish watery liquid on her skin around the spot. It may just be imagined since I keep looking at her so intently but it's almost as if her skin is bulging a little in that spot.

I guess, if she's injured somehow, it's not an open wound and she's good staying still and healing.

Her panting is what was causing me to think it was something else.

Update: something seems to have bitten my hen lightly on her left leg. There are some faint bloody spots on feathers on both sides of the leg otherwise I would say she got injured somehow. We have a pup that has never bitten or bothered the hens, but I'm not ruling her out. That accounts for her soreness. There does not seem to be a puncture wound, or at least bad/deep ones. I washed and treated with antibacterial ointment. My only question now is, what would cause her foot to have a lime greenish tint? Hopefully not infection. It may be normal for a wounded leg, but I wanted to make sure!

Can you spread the feathers out so we can see the wounds better?
Is she still panting?

Cleanse and inspect all wounds that you see - I suspect she may have torn skin or puncture wounds - the green on the leg looks like it could be bruising. Apply triple antibiotic ointment or Vetericyn to the wounds. Watch for signs of infection (pus/odors) and see that no flies get into the wound to lay eggs.

Bruising in chickens is green, so that's probably the cause of the green leg. I would be much more concerned about the dark, discoloured skin on the body which suggests it may be a significant wound. Can you trim the feathers back and get some good photos of that and get it cleaned up if the skin is broken? If she has had this a while it could even be maggot infested at this time of year, which would definitely cause her to peck at it.
Her breathing problems may stem from an infection and/or possibly even a puncture wound. A thorough examination is necessary to assess her overall condition.
