Yep. I had a chicken that did something like that. Warm wash cloth. and antibiotic eye ointment. at least 2x a day. If it's not better in a few day then you know you need oral antibiotics.

Your hen has a sinus infection you need to give her some antibotics tylan 200 or Baytril if the swollen area is still soft the antibotics should take care of it if it is hard it will have to be cut out. I will pm you a link to show how to do it.

Excellent advice!!!! The infection will get hard if present too long and not be able to be absorbed or discharged. Until then you don't need to cut them open.

That is what I have been saying. We had this happen to our black Shoulder peahen last year. Get it out before it solidifies

so what I have been doing since yesterday.. is 3 cc tylan 50 injected into a peice of bread.. she gobbles down the peice of bread.. so I know she is getting into her system.. but no change..
we shall see how it looks tommorrow after another dose

thanks everyone

What was really said was as long as it is soft you don't need to cut it out!! The antibiotics will cure and the bird absorb the infection. If it hardens then you need to cut it out. It may take several days to see progress on the eye. Also still clean the eye of pus that is drying on the outside. Use a warm wet cloth. Make sure the nasal passages are not clogged either.
