*Update 9/23/08*Pics of my new chicks *

I've added 2 month pics of the chicks with the red background in post 1. It's hard to believe they are that old already!

2 month old pics added on pg 2 post #12.

I've heard it said that the first to hatch is usually a roo. Out of my four hatches the first one was always a pullet!

Here is a pic of the whole crew. It was taken this morning.

What cute little babies and I love the way you added as they grow up. I would have never thought about using the nail polish to tell them apart!! Will have to do that with the one that we are going to keep out of our hatchings, although we will probably be keeping all 10 since we are getting a little too attached now.

Thanks for the great idea anyway!!

I just added the 2 month pics for the chicks in post #20 on page 2. They are all black and smaller than the others and I don't mean due to the age difference either. Even considering they are pullets they are smaller than the other pullets were at that age. They are out of my flock just like the others. Seem to be healthy and thriving so I'm not worried, it's just strange that the solid black didn't show up in my earlier hatches or my neighbor's (from my chickens) and then they are smaller birds.

Remember they are from Brown and Black Sex-link hens and a Black Sex-link roo. That makes them mixed breed.
