I am curious who said it was a yote and a fox together I believe the only poster who said that was joking. I have seen feral dogs run with yotes. I have seen cross bred yotes. but I believe a coyote would eat a fox around here or foxes are tiny compaired to pics i have seen and we dont see them very often the last fox we had in the area had 6 pups with her she was hit by a car and we never saw the pups after that. but there very small in size our coyotes are much larger. oh and Not sure but out here in flat land okarche I have only seen a red fox. didnt even know there was different colored fox's now I feel stupid. anyhow post more pics so I can make more disputes your making it hard on me to argue when you post legitamite pics of yotes.

"The coyote is a member of the dog family. In size and shape the coyote is like a medium-sized Collie dog, but its tail is round and bushy and is carried straight out below the level of its back." Quote from DesertUSA in reference to western coyote--eastern version is a bit larger, more wolf like but wolves carry their tail higher, above the back as do foxes.

Looks like a Tasmanian tiger. The way the tail is carried is a dead giveaway. We have them all over Indiana. They've been known to carry off whole herds of cattle.

JOKING, Said that because the way the two hold their tail....someone post the yote carry tail low, fox carry their tail straight back.....yes both are coyotes, one just carry his tail like the one in the OP pic.

No its not a mouse either...i know mice are grey ,but their tails are not bushy. Mice do carry their tails straight back.

Well I haven't gotten anymore pics... we may never know what this is! I actually moved the cam to a different location in the same field, we shall see if we get anything there.... No more poo either. Got a coon in the trap by my chickens last night though it is the 3rd one in 2 weeks. Very well could have been a neighbors dog i suppose, the poo looks like something that has been eating "fresh kill" so unless the neighbors don't feed their dog...then it wasn't from the dog.... and there are 2 seperate piles, and have never seen the neighbors dog. But Again I don't live on the property it is my parents house, and they don't venture out too far past the house which they live on 11 acres and the house is up at the front, the cam pic is from almost to the back. I will see if I get any new/better pictures tonight...

And no I never expected this thread to get this way lol! I just expected a few guesses on what my cam shows, not a full flown brawl... lol it has been entertaining though!

Hard to tell by pic........sure way size of scat... like a 25 lb dog and a 50 lb dog........size does matter...fox scat about same as a coon scat.

The scat does tell its not a DOG..You should be able to tell by the size of the scat ,fox or coyote, big different in size of the two scat.....

That is not a miniature horse. It is a miniature donkey (I can tell by the way it holds its tail).
