Hmmmm... I do remember reading that feeding soy noticeably lowers fertility in cattle. I'll have to look at my layer feed and see how much soy is in it... I'm sure there's some, but hopefully it's not one of the very first ingredients!

I don't about in Cattle but it will in some poultry. (been there)

White Plymouth Rocks shouldn't be Dominate White.
If you cross a R.I. Red Rooster over a White Plymouth Rocks Hen you should get Sex-link offspring. (White/Yellow chicks a young roosters and the Red chicks are young pullets)

Chris

These are my Isa Browns. The white ones are my boys and the others are my girls.

Here is a picture of their chicks. Sometimes you will get an off color chick.

Arn't Isa Brown's from RIR and White Leghorn cross?
Or are you saying that they will look the same.

We put the Heritage RIR rooster in with the White Plymouth Rocks today, cannot wait to see what we get.
Have been feeding the pigs with the eggs for 4 months now.

ISA (Institut de Sélection Animale) Browns are a R.I. Red/ R.I. White Cross (Hybrid sex-link).

Your cross should look very much the same.

I also have RIR males and RIW females. Your birds should look very similar. Some people cross RIR males with Delaware females, which also will produce birds very similar.

Okay, I'll look at my feed tag for vitamin E. Thanks for the tip!

Are there any other ingredients that improve or decrease fertility/incubating/hatching that you know of that I should look for?

A "Quick Fix" is a product called Breeder Solution it will improves semen quality/ quantity, egg production, fertility and hatchability.
You add a 1/2 tsp. per 2 gallons or one drop per pint of feed. I use this product along with a good Breeder feed either on for chickens or game birds that has animal protein in it, also I stay away from all plant protein diets.

I, too, try to stay away from feed that has no animal protein in it. Chickens are omnivores, not vegetarians!

I finally got a tag off of my layer feed, and here's what it says:

Processed Grain By-Products, Grain Products, Calcium Carbonate, Plant Protein Products, Roughage Products, Animal Protein Products, Monocalcium Phosphate, Dicalcium Phosphate, L-Lysine, Salt, Choline Chloride, Vitamin E Supplement, Riboflavin Supplement, Menadione Dimethylpyrimidinol Bisulfite, Iron Oxide, Zinc Oxide, Vitamin B12 Supplement, Vitamin A Supplement, Vitamin D3 Supplement, Niacin Supplement, Calcium Pantothenate, Folic Acid, Thiamine Mononitrate, Pyridoxine Hydrochloride, Copper Sulfate, Ethylenediamine Dihydriodide, Iron Sulfate, Manganous Oxide, Sodium Selenite.

Wow, there's a lot of funky stuff in there!

And I wish they were more specific about what is actually the first three or so ingredients in the feed... But at least it does have Vitamin E!

I've tried three different kinds of layer feed so far (there's three kinds available in a 1 hour radius from me), and this one is by far my favorite. High production of hard-shelled eggs.
