*Update* Finally Caught the White Dove

No, they aren't pigeons. They are doves. The one white one is back. She/he is sleeping in our tree. Too tall for me to reach with a ladder at night. I will try to catch her tomorrow with the butterfly net.

i'm concerned that there is just that one now, sleeping by herself/himself. i would think if the other white one or the ringneck was still around they would all be sleeping together.

I had doves a few years ago in CA.Finally got some white ones-they had white babies, then 1 of those mated w/a ringneck & I got what I called a champagne~so pretty! Good luck catching them.

There only seems to be that one coming around now. Yesterday, she was right outside the kitchen window on a fence. i went out and inched closer and closer, talking and cooing to her. She let me get pretty close, then flew up into a tree. She was back today on a low fence in our backyard. We go on vacation for a week in twelve days, and i would really like to catch her before that. i'm thinking i can keep her in a flight cage then build a better enclosure when we get back. i have been sprinkling chicken scratch on the ground for her, and that seems to be what she is eating. She seems so sweet and gentle.

Finally caught the white dove that has been hanging around our yard. She was right up by our back door this morning. i sat and watched and she finally went inside our duck pen, which has aviary netting above it, then into their coop. So i was able to close her in then catch her. i tried to be as gentle as possible. Now she's in our house in a parakeet flight cage, with food and water. Giving her some time to be calm.

i guess i need to learn how to best keep doves. And then, how to sex them, as i don't know if this is a girl or boy. Anyhow, here is a picture, finally.
