Well, thank you, thank you, thank you. I think it was the ear infection and or coryza. couldn't have done it without you!!!!

Coryza makes them carriers for life correct? I am thinking that was what it was with the smell you are talking about. I just had to cull a cockerel I got a few weeks back with coryza, fortunately for me the bird was in quarentine when I figured it out and hadn't been exposed to my other birds. Glad to hear she is doing better but keep in mind If I am correct about them being carriers for life she could infect other birds.

OMG this thread has been so helpful- I have a 10 month old Buff Orp that was doing the exact same droopy turned neck thing this morning when I went out to the coop- and I've been panicking for the past few hours about what to try and do for her...

So I'm encouraged by the fact that yours is pulling through- happy for you! Thanks so much for posting about this- I'm going to go and get some meds on my way home from work to try and take care of my gal when I get home!

I'm so grateful that I can read this board and find advice and support from fellow chicken lovers!

I am so Happy!!!

She is not quite there yet but she is walking around like so owns the place!!!! shes not eating on her own yet either but thats the worst of our problem. she is not twisted at all!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! i'll try and get my DH to post her pic tonight you all will be so happy!!!!!

i had to run out and get some polyvisol because i'm sure the baytril was real hard on her. does any one recommend on how many drops to give her and if it will reverse the effect of the meds?

here is a pic of her. one before and one after. she is walking around now instead of laying around. she is still not eating on her own. I put her in a cage tonight just to see if she'll eat. I also put some polyvisol in her water tonight i hope it doesn't counter act w/ her meds. her poo looks green and white a tad bit runny sometimes but not always. any suggestions on the vitamins? should i wait til she is done w/ her meds?
