Good deal, I just love when they refer to you as a parental figure, MOMMA, POPPA . I called I- deal and was bragging about my chicks and they said it must be there MoM (Me) LOL. Telling them how smart some of them were. and she told me "it must be there MOM cause chickens are not the most intellegent of the Avian species" They must have had a good teacher, I just about died laughing! ( But on a serious note
my babies are the smartest chicks ever, LOL
they are just 3 weeks old and most of them know there name!) at least I think they do. LOL enjoy your babies! Stormy

PS My view may be alittle misguided due to pregiduces about my kids! (feathered).

Post office just called a minute ago and my new chicks are in, Yeah! overnighter again same as the last time! I love Ideal! 5 various cochins, 2 Delaware, 2 barred rock, 2 black sex links all pullets, and warmer chicks ? don't know yet.

I ordered from Ideal (my first chickens EVER!). They were shipped yesterday and came today (7 WL, 3 RPR, 3 RR, 4 Ameraucanas)

I have a larger homemade brooder outside (in the garage), but saw several folks talking about indoor "tub" brooders. I have a 50 gallon one I have them in at the moment...thought I could use it for the first week. Are there any health concerns keeping them inside?

Got mine at 10am this morning! 1 doa and 1 on its last gasps....

at least they were packing peanuts and not my naked neck. Still hate to see anything die. 5 light brahma, 3 EE, and 1 naked neck! Plus their new friends the 7 boys that made it. More fussy butts to love!

I just got my Ideal chicks this morning...overnight! Awesome service. Post office called at 6 am and all 9 chicks are doing good so far. My children were so excited, they woke up when the phone started ringing yelling 'are the chicks here?'. Hummm, why don't they ever wake up for school that excited!?

I just got home and finished putting the babies in the brooder, got them fed and watered and settled down, All are doing great, one tried to make the great escape! No injurys no deaths! AND NO PACKING PEANUTS THIS TIME! Im gonna post pics after while. if i can get the camera to act nice this time! LOL

Im soooooo excited that they are home safe and sound!!

forgot I also got my speckled sussex eggs from bargain this morning also! What a day! Congrats on everyones little ones! the pics are georgous!

Mine shipped on Wednesday. I split an order with my friend from here and we are hopefully going to get them first thing in the morning. I have myself paranoid that they will get held up on their journey or be dead when I get to the PO.
