From what you say the breeder has tried to correct any errors that were made on their part. Take the extra bird, but think twice before ordering from them again and leave it at that. Even if you were taken, its not nice of her to rub it in over & over like that. Dont waste your time trying to convince anyone that you are not a fool they wouldnt believe you any way.

I think the breeder screwed up and knows it. May have sent birds that didn't measure up and that they knew were sick. It also sounds like they feel some remorse, so that is good.

Are you a fool? many mother in laws know everything, you'd have to ask them. As for most people, we learn best by learning the hard way. Don't feel bad, just chalk it up to experience. Good luck with your peepers.

My new mutt roo has a similar toe issue. He was given to me by my neighbor. I don't care about it because I won't be showing or breeding chickens. But he has some feathering on his feet and 2 claws on each of his rear toes. My neighbor hatched this one and he has a mixed flock including some EEs, silkies, a Polish roo, and another roo, and many more. To me he looks like he might be a EE-Silky cross.

PS...in my original posts I didn't want to identify the breeder out of fairness to them, so I claimed the birds were not silkies. However, you may note in the photos that they appear to be silkies, indeed. Draw your own conclusions.

At first she didnt want to identify the breeder.
