Since the horse hasn't been ridden in a while. I or another experienced rider would ride her first. Then after a few minutes in the pen, if she seemed child-safe, I might consider placing a child(is full safety gear) on her and see what happens. Keep them confined to a ring, just in case.

But, just keep in mind, that if she hadn't been ridden in awhile, she may be just a tadbit rusty or lazy.

I like her and she sounds like a wonderful horse. Jump on the deal before someone beats ya to it. Beginner horses are irreplaceable and as stated before are worth their weight in gold.

Oh yeah, don't let the size get to ya. Most of my horses are in th 13-15 hh range. I prefer them that way, they make for better rides and those I have had that were 16-17 hh always seemed to have something going wrong with their feet.

Thanks for the advice! I plan on getting on her first to see, I will be able to tell if she is safe or not. I m really hoping she is everything the owners have said. She definately had the ground manners.

Can you show up unexpectedly to see her? That way you can be sure she's not been drugged or ridden then hosed off before you get there.

It might just be the angles of the photos but she doesn't look 15hh to me. Although shorter might suit you and your family better, it's good to bear in mind how easy she would be to sell if you no longer need her for any reason.

ETA Always be sure to have the owner/someone who knows the horse ride it first. That way they can show you what it is capable of, and it will probably give you an insight into bad habits. It also saves you getting bucked off a horse they don't want!

I wished I had taken photos of Rocket after his bath. But didn't think of it until next day,

Oh Rocket looked just fine! He looks like he was being a horse!! No worries! I am going to look at a bay Quarter horse too. Kind of have my heart set on Bella, but it all depends on which one rides better for my daughter. Color doesn't matter in comparison to temperment and quietness. We'll see. I am super excited though!!
