Mystery chick from MM
I have pictures of my little darling that show more feathering. Anyone got a good opinion on what breed an gender I have here?
I am completely thrown...
I thought it was a Cochin, either Partridge or Golden Laced, but obviously neither...is this a Mille Fleur D'Uccle?
And is it a cockerel? (Mr. E) or Pullet? (Miss Turry)

Looks like a single comb...

No beard on this one either...

I can't believe it you have the same mystery chick as we do!! I just posted a question to ask what kind of chick we have and then I saw your post of a chick that looks just like our "Tennessee Belle". We picked out EE from the feed store and noticed right away that she had feathers on her legs but the feathers keep coming and growing.

EEs can look like anything, so yours could be. I am quite certain mine is not, it does look every bit cochin, but the color has me thrown. I could just sit around and wait, but it is always fun to guess.

I got mine from McMurray. This is my free, unidentified chick. I got two others free but they told me on the shipping label they were roos and what breed. It actually took me a couple of days to notice this one, I thought it was one of the Birchen Cochins I ordered. Surprise! it wasn't. I saw the brownish head and knew that I was missing something. Of course, with a load of chicks scrambling around it is hard to tell what is what sometimes.

If it is std size I still say PARTRIDGE. For they do not have the GL in std.
They do have it in the Bantams, since you have the Birchen Bantams I would go with the GLC .
I'm sure it will be very nice looking. Nice extra bird! Best of luck.

It IS a bantam. I guess I forgot to put that part in.

And, yes, if it is GLC its coloring is very black. But, I won't complain either way. I don't have any girls I would mate him with for now anyway. I can see him being spoiled for being different. I also have a mystery chick from Sand Hill that is really stumping me too. I know it is a pullet, but other than that I am completely mystified.
