Are we starting a baby arrival time pool? If she went in at 2:30 AM Eastern and this is her first baby, I am going to say she won't see a baby until this evening.

Yeah, but she went to the OB yesterday afternoon and was told that she was having contractions 16 minutes apart, and she was already 4 cm dilated ... I think it was around 2:30-3:00 when she updated with that info. And she was 90% effaced a week ago. I'm guessing baby Aiden is here by now.

Cell phone use is usually limited in hospitals so it could be a while before we hear from her. Patience is a vertue.

I used a cell phone in the "recovery" area after my son was born.

We were all texting and calling people as soon as my nephew was born... standing out in the hallway peeking in the recovery room as we text and called! My aunt took a picture of all of us on our cell phones!

I hope we hear an update soon... I've been watching this thread all week (and storing up the information for later when it is my turn to have a child... not any time soon, though).

Here you can't even get reception unless your by a window.

I used my cell phone and laptop in the hospital all the time. However they may be more flexible when you are spending as much time there as I had too.

ETA: Although now that I think about it, I called from my BFF's delivery room when her son was born last year.

It probably depends on the hospital.
