Just got home a few mins ago, went to the docs at about 9:30 and then had a few things to do in town.....
Doc said it wasn't my water that broke
but (this might be a little gross, SORRY !!!) when he showed me all the mucas/discharge that came out on the thing they spread you with (cant remember the name, ive always called it the "spreader") I can understand why I felt/feel leaky, I was like
ewwww !!! He said that when it gets closer to that time there is usally a lot of that stuff that comes out. But ewwwww, Guess thats part of it all.....
Then he looked at baby on the ultrasound and again I was like
I havent seen him on ultrasound since he was 22 weeks old (he was still a tiny thing) At this point he is so big (about 7.5 pounds) that you can only see parts at a time... It was very awesome !!! I guess he was measuring the amount of fluid there was in there, he said it looked pretty good !!!
Then.... Yes more, he checked again to see how many cm's I was.... Still 3 maybe 4cm's he said, he didnt say anything about the thinning so I assume its still 90%
last he told me to go up to L&D so they could do a stress test on the baby (they hook you up for 45 min and count all babys kicks and see if you are having any contractions) Very boring test, only so much you can talk about with the nurse
Test was good, baby was moving !!!
So that was my day at the docs.... Fun !!!
I'm still waiting
....... Again he told me "could be anytime now" yah ok, thanks doc.... LOL !!
Maybe baby is really waiting till my b-day, I guess if thats the case I should go in to labor tonight

Have you lost the mucous plug yet? That would be a good sign that you are dialating more.
With my youngest, I was in labor for 4 days. The only pain I felt was in my lower abdomen, right above the pubic bone. I would have contractions that would stop if I changed positions. I called the hospital, and they gave me the wrap about 'waiting till contractions were 3-5 minutes apart' and 'eating, showering, changing position' to see if they were false labor. Finally, I went to the bathroom, after not having 'regular' contractions. I had some blood when I wiped, and pretty much freaked out! I called my friend that was going to take me, since I lived alone. It took her and her DH 1/2 hour to get there. 45 minutes later we arrived at the hospital, and 1 1/2 hours later, my DS was born. I was 8 cm when I got to the hospital. The dr. said if my water had broken at home, he would have been born there!! Talk about scary!!
Anyway, about the mucous plug, with my first, it was just real wet feeling at first when I started losing it, so maybe that's what you are feeling?
Good luck!! And don't forget to get lots of pics!!
ETA: Just saw your update, that's what I thought it was!! It will be soon now!! With my last one, I was losing mine the whole day before I had him. It had been 8+ years since I had had a baby, so I guess it just didn't 'click' that it meant 'go to hospital'! So we'll see you in a few days, you'll probably be busy tonight
ast he told me to go up to L&D so they could do a stress test on the baby (they hook you up for 45 min and count all babys kicks and see if you are having any contractions) Very boring test, only so much you can talk about with the nurse
Ugh I had one of those on Wednesday and another one today, and another on Tuesday. Don't you just want to go to sleep? But you can't because you have to push the button!
Its all so strange to read all this yuck talk. When i was pregnant, I grew for 9 months, drove to the hospital and had the baby. It hurt.......but there was not plugs.....not gook leaking.....no nothing.........i just had a baby. I was pregnant with twins, lost one along the way.....but still nothing like this i am reading. Maybe i was lucky

Actually, they never have to rupture membranes, it's just something that has become common practice. It's perfectly safe for a baby to be born in the caul, and it happens every so often; both of mine came close.
