Update! Nigerian dwarf is freshening!! (Pic PG 1&3)

Sometimes the babies are silly and loose the teat and then some catch on pretty well. Sounds like it got some and will continue. I have had babies born when it was in the minus's and they did well and it was with new mommas. They need to be draft free and not to hot. Just contimue to show the baby where the teat is and it should get the picture soon and quick. Yep they need colostrum for at leat the forst 24 hrs of their life and anything put in their tummys has to be that. Most will do fine outside with mom. Mine do...

Congrats on your adorable new kid!!! Sounds like you have it all under control.

We made it through the first night! Baby and Momma are doing great. We have had to bring him in (yep, baby buck) and warm him for short periods of time. We also decided to give him some colostrum just to be sure he is getting some. I want to name him Prancer, but Tina will get the final say I suppose. I have finished a new kidding pen, complete with heat in the basement of our Packing Barn. Thanks for all the help everyone! It is great to have a place like this to fall back on!

Everyone is healthy, warm and cozy, and very happy. And yes, his name is "Prancer".
Thank you again for all your wonderful advice and encouragement. I pray that God blesses each and every one of you.

Oh, how cute are they?!?!?

I really want some and my ordinance might and might not allow me to have them, depending on where I put my pen.

I keep telling myself I don't need them, but I'm not listening to me very well.
