Hello Everyone! Here is a small update on whats happening at the Froese House!

Avery had her specialist appointment this past week and will be having her Hernia surgery by the end of the month. Sooner than we expected, but the doctor doesn't want to wait for it to get any worse than it is.

I've ordered my new chickens and I'm picking them up (day olds) on April 22nd. I still have 5 BR's and not too sure what to do with them. I know I cannot keep them, I might ask around if anyone locally wants to buy them. (although they do all have avian pox...don't know if anyone will want them.)
I'm pretty excited to start the cycle all over again.

The baby chick was the best part of the whole expierience. The most work, but the most rewarding.

We have had a male canary (orange) for about 7 months now and we bought him a mate (yellow) just 2 weeks ago. She is currently sitting on 3 eggs and they should be hatching any day this weekend! SO EXCITED! Very different than chickens, but I'm up to the challenge!! will post pictures once they hatch.

Here is a more recent photo of Avery. She's 11lbs 2oz and 29inches long!!! Don't be fooled...she doesn't sleep like this all the time

Avery is beautiful and hopes the surgery goes well. A coworker daughter had a strangulated hernia at 3 months, she's doing fine. It is best to take care of these things when they are young. Let us know how he does and good luck with the chickens.

I am now a Canary Mommy to two baby birdies!

They are so funny looking!!!! The third egg never hatched, but I'm scared to try removing it from the nest. I don't want mama canary to abandon the babies.

Avery has her pre-op appointment today and her surgery is scheduled on Friday. Wish me luck!

I'm very scared of needles and I have no idea what I'm going to do when she needs to be put 'under'. I feel terrible that I'm not stronger than this. How can I be there for her when I'm terrified? I feel like such a big wimp...but I heard that seeing your child go "under" and wake up are the worst things you could expierience...has anyone been through this?

Here is a recent picture of my sweet girl.
Thanks everyone for listening and being there for my family! XOXO

OMGosh, she is adorable, just precious. My 6 yr old, then 4 yrs old, had work done on his teeth. They put him under, yes it is VERY stressful, but everything will go fine. As mothers, we want to be in control all the time, and I just felt so out of control of that situation. I just had to trust in the Drs and everything went fine. He woke up SO grumpy, which is a side effect of the anestesia (sp). He kept saying, these teeth are stupid, you said they were going to fix them. My husband and I were trying so hard not to laugh. I pray that her surgery goes good and uneventful. I'm sure everything will be fine.

I haven't had my kids go through surgery, but I've gone through 2 different things where they need to be put under. I will admit the first one was for my 3 yr. old and they started with a liquid drink for her, and watching her get woozy was hillarious so that helped us a lot. My son had an accident when he was 5 months old and for me I couldn't be with him. I only heard him crying like crazy so they could take CT scans for him. Have your family there for support and know that it's going to be fine. You have answers now to what Avery has been dealing with and that is so much comfort in itself. This is very routine stuff for surgeons.
Keep us posted and we are praying with you.
