Em, I just saw your thread.

I'm so glad that your son's surgery went well. You and your family have been heavy in my thoughts. Take care of yourself and keep us posted on his progress. That's really cool of the hospital to provide a laptop for use.

I'm keeping you and your little boy in my prayers, Em. I hope he has a smooth recovery and can soon be home running around 'nakie' again- and showing off his cool scar.

When my son spent a week in Children's- they wheeled in a Nintendo system so he could play video games whenever he wanted. No laptops though- I'm glad they have a way to let you stay connected with your 'net world.
When my daughter spent a week in Children's, years later,we played the Bingo game that they had each day- one of the aides delivered Bingo cards to each patient, and I marked them off for her. They showed the number/pictures on the television-When you got a "Bingo", you phoned it in. They had small prizes for the kids.

Thoughts and prayers go out to you and your family!! My sister had open heart surgery about 25 years ago!! She was born early and only about 2 1/2 pounds when she had the surgery. Her scar goes from the middle of her chest and wraps around to the middle of her back!! It is soo hard to see your child go through something like this. Please take care!!
