I'm done with the frame work. The 1/4" hardware mesh will be here Friday. We paint tomorrow.

NEEDS:

- Add the nesting boxes on the back (reverse roll away).
- A way to clean out
- Finish door
- Add 2 to 4 inflatable wheels on a lever system to make it easy to move.

MY ?s:

1- Has anybody here ever made a removable nesting box? I think I am leaning towards this for clean out.

2- The is a partial "A" frame, maybe a method to raise one side for clean outs? I just don't see a away to do that without messing up the ridge cap or leaks. Any feed back on that?

Thanks all!

They have somewhat flexible ridge caps you could probably use, depending on what roofing material you're planning on using. If metal or plastic, you could probably have a whole "panel" hinged and a big overlap on the side where it butts up against other living space with the expectation that any time you have driving rain/wind, you may get some moisture in the coop if it migrates far enough to the side.

Installing a ridge vent may help free up some space too and allow for better ventilation/easier hinge space.

If you're just trying to make it easier to access that flat area, i'd build a way to access it from inside the run (this will be a huge pain, but the way you've designed it doesn't really leave any other simple/reasonable options) and do cleanouts from inside.

If you're up to revise your plans, building a partial wall and putting your nest boxes on one side may be a much simpler way to access both the nest boxes and the inside of the coop for cleaning from outside the run. Please excuse my terrible illustration.

We actually talked about adding it to the sides and putting in a clean out door on the back. To me, it makes the most sense.

Thanks for the reply
