Update on my laying pullets

Are those plastic nesting boxes really big enough for the birds?? Mine stand up to lay their eggs, and it looks like there isn't enough room for the hens to stand....looks cramped. Ok for smaller birds, but BB are big birds.

Out of my EE's: Purdy, Bertha and Turkey are laying. That leaves Sweet Cheeks and Hottie left to go.​

Pretty eggs! I just love all the diff shades. Isn't it exciting to collect them. The speckled one is unusual looking. I'm having so much fun collecting eggs, I'm not sure if the newness will ever wear off. I have to hold myself back from collecting sometimes, so my daughter can experience some fun to.

That speckled one is really weird. I've never seen one like it. I work at home so I'm pretty much out in the chicken yard at least once an hour collecting eggs.

You'll have to see if your Barred Rock lays another one today. I wonder if all Barred Rocks lay specled eggs or it's a condition of some sort. Really neat looking! Maybe someone can answer that question.

Well that was Squealer's first egg but Boo, another Barred Rock, has been laying since the 8th and she always has either plain brown eggs or brown eggs with a tiny bit of dark brown speckles. I'll see if Squealer lays another today but I doubt it. After the first egg they usually take a 2 day break, mine do at least.
