I went to the store, and this lady was asking everyone to take these chicks. They hatched them for in a Preschool, and she had no idea what they are. Figured since I rescued 4 last Wed from the trash can at the gas station, why not take these. She said they hatched on March 25th. At least both groups are doing great together, everyone is sharing and not picking on each other. They all have feathers on their legs.

Mille fleur d'uccle!

Light brahma?

OMG, How fancy is that "Mille Fleur d'Uccle. That one has the be my favorite, so very cute, and has tons of leg feathers. With my luck it will be a Roo. And you think a Light Brahma? I was thinking they might be a Cochin Mix after looking at photo's. I know she said they came with the same patch of eggs. She said they hatched about 20, and they all looked different.

I also think the 4th chick might be a light brahma, but not sure. And i can't believe that some onewould throw baby chicks in s trash can. That is so mean, some people just don't make any sense. Congraulations on your new chicks and for being the good person who rescued those chicks.

I know, I couldn't believe it either. So you think that they can be Brahma's. Are they good eggers? I just trying to decide what we should keep. The first batch I was told that what looks like a Golden Production, Barred Rock (Possible Roo), Black Sex Link and a White Leghorn (possible Roo). That was the trash can bunch. This bunch came from someone out in 50 degree's with them in a box, trying to give them away. So I took her last 4, I think she said she had about 20 to start with. Hope they made it to good homes. I already know I can't keep all of them, but I have made a few calls to local people that are selling chicks (not feed stores), and all them said they would take them in at any age, so at least I have a back up if I don't find them good homes. They all said they would either include them in their flocks or re-sell them. Now I just need to really get in gear with the chicken run. :D

I'm not positive that is a light brahma, but i think it is. None of mine have started ,laying yet but a lot of people say that they lay really good. Someone over on the brahma thread was talking about one of her dark brahma hens that recently died abd she said all this henever laid was double yokers except for her last egg which was a triple yoker!I'm sure not all of them lay that good but I thought that was pretty amazing.

What other chicks have feathered legs? I'm so new to this since we rescued them. Never really thought about having chickens. But now my hardest decision is how to fence in the coop.

Cochins, silkies, and quite a few other but i cant name them off the top of my head. btw I can 100% garantee that it isnt a silkie chick. It would be agood idea to have acovered top especially if you live in town, because my chicks fly over the fence all the time.

So nice of you to take them.I took in 6 from my kids school years ago.How sad chicks were in the garbage.
