(UPDATE p.4) BIG problem! All roosters but 1? I only bought pullets!

depending on their ages, my first thoughts were also all hens.

We just processed several extra 16 week old "roos." Two of them had eggs in them. (One was so mean that we'd have processed anyway.)

Don't give up hope yet.

Hey there,

I agree with everyone who said don't give up hope yet. It can be so hard to be sure as they grow if they're pullets or roos.

How old are they? That could be a big help in everyone helping to sex them.

Also, don't forget that commercial egg laying breeds can have large combs even at a young age (not always, but it does happen). And they sure seem to have hen feathers so far...so maybe there's still a chance?

For Example, the Silkie in my avatar-----99% told me that it was a GIRL, in fact its a Rooster, and has fathered all my silkie chicks so far this year. ;-)

Take Care,
Bill.

I am almost certain Sibil is a pullet. I say "almost" because I don't think anything is more certain to make someone out a liar, than trying to sex chickens when they get to that awkward stage. LOL! She looks just like mine. The barred rocks, I am not sure about. I am having the same trouble trying to tell the sex of mine.

Good luck! I strongly suggest waiting until someone crows or lays an egg before you get rid of any. I will say that your barred rocks do have very definite fine barring, very black and white, that is a good sign. Mine are more muddled and gray and white, and I know I have a few boys.

I'm going to say pullet. I have two BR's that look like yours and I know mine are hens.
Like everyone has said, don't give up hope yet

Here is an example so you can see the barring trait that I mentioned in the previous post. Sorry but your heading is correct, you have roo's. Research it a little. I have barred rocks as well and did not know until the feed store told me. They had 300 barred rock pullets when I bought mine. I asked the man is it guaranteed and he told me about the sex link trait. Every single bittie in that brooder was black.

The BRs are ALL cockerels, sorry.I do not see a BR pullet in the bunch, they're way too light colored, but let me look again for you.

Where did you get them? Certainly a hatchery didnt sex those! If so, you really need some $$$ back.

***Sorry, I looked again and unless someone is breeding some really weird BRs, those are all cockerels.
