Update (pg 11): Daisy's crop - successful surgery and now eating!

Sounds like you had a wonderful caretaker. The kind that worry sick are exactly the kind I'd like to find for my babies!
Glad Daisy is doing so well

Tina was really lovely - she said she wouldn't be boarding any more chickens, as she felt that the responsibility of looking after someone else's pets was too scary! Bless her!

Daisy really does seem fine now. She's eating normally and there was an impressive amount of solid, normal-looking poo in her spot in the coop this morning, so the food must be making it through. She's bullying Topsy dreadfully again too, so she's obviously feeling better! Poor Tops though!

I shall give our vet an update later this week, when I'm sure she's going to be okay - and three cheers to him, what a guy!

She's absolutely fine! Stitches came out nicely, she's eating well and behaving normally, and seems none the worse for her ordeal.

In fact, she's famous - I managed to get her story (with a photo) into the September issue of Practical Poultry magazine!
