*~*UPDATE PICS*~* 3/15/09 chicks and my duckling

i candled a few more it was too tempting i believe i have atleast1 of my silkie eggs developing and i think 2 out of my 3 duck eggs are but it was hard to tell as they are slower in production i tried my two super dark green eggs but im not sure if one of them is developing and the other was too dark to see anything but i will keep you posted i also tried the big egg it might be a double yolker and it has veins so i will see what i get but i will keep you guys updated

best to candle at 7 days, get rid of all non fertile ones. Two reason bad eggs stink and save you time on turning them.

I have about the same number of eggs in my bator right now and what I do is take one egg out of a row and then roll all the eggs up, then add that egg back at the top after turning it in my hand. It only takes about two to three minutes that way and the temp maybe drops a degree or so. The temp in the eggs doesn't drop that quickly so by the time the air in the bator is back up the eggs are fine.
I am anxious to see some candling pix. I will be candling some of mine on Tuesday and will post some pix.

Don't break them! I broke one in my first hatch. Just dropped it on the floor. Now I dampen my fingers so they kind of get traction.

you know how u move 1 egg then rolls the whole row i have them all sitting on the metal rack and i tried it it didnt work :sad i should of use something under the eggs so it was easier to turn did u put something under neath?
 
i just candles al 52 this is what i came up with egg #'s 13, 43, 44, 45, 46 and 51 were not fertile/ clear egg when cadleing, eggs #'s 22 and 28 were iffy not sure if still evolving, and egg # 42 was to dark to see anything
